Jamie offers exceptional skills as a mediator developed while managing complex commercial and insurance litigation. Jamie’s litigation experience and his former role as General Counsel of a national law firm make him an exceptionally versatile mediator.

Jamie practiced at a national law firm, both as a litigation partner and as General Counsel, the first such appointment at a Canadian law firm. As a result, Jamie has unique insight as a mediator in accommodating and reconciling opposing views.

Jamie founded and led the Canadian Association of Law Firm Risk Management and participated as a panelist in risk management seminars, including the Canadian Bar Association Law Leadership Conference.

Jamie has authored seminars on mediation ethics and mediation best practices that have been accredited by the Law Society of Ontario for mandatory CPD professionalism credits and has presented those seminars to dozens of leading law firms.

Jamie received his B.A.(Hons.) from Queen’s University, his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School.  Jamie is the former Chair of the Canadian Lawyers’ Subcommittee of DRI’s Lawyers’ Professionalism and Ethics Committee and a former member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of Osgoode Hall Law School. Jamie also served as a member of the Executive of both the Canadian Bar Association National ADR Section and Ontario Bar Association ADR Section.
